RE1313's crew just cleared a motor vehicle accident report of victims trapped on Eayrestown Road. RE1313 requested Vincent Fire (Sta. 171) for addition rescue if necessary. RE1313 arrived to find a vehicle on its side in a drain ditch with a single victim trapped. A member of the crew tunneled into the passenger compartment of the vehicle to begin examining the patient, and provide cover. RE1313 immediately went in service, and performed a rapid extrication, folding the roof to allow ALS and BLS access to the patient.
Tonight's duty crew demo'd water rescue equipment the department plans to purchase this year. Members are being trained on ice and water rescue situations to enhance the capabilities of rescue the department can perform.
Shortly after 1am crews were dispatched for a structure fire. Chief 1300 arrived on scene to find a 10x20 temporary car port fully involved. Rescue engine 1313 was first due and went into service with hand lines to extinguish the fire. Mutual aid was also on scene to assist. The fire is currently under investigation.
Crews on T1314 operating in Shamong Township for a building fire, and RE1313 is currently covering Sta. 431. More info to come as it becomes available.
